Department of Clothing, Textile, and Interior Design
The University of Alabama is committed to excellence in instruction, research, and service. Accredited by the Foundation for Interior Design Education Research (FIDER) and the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), the interior design program offers a wide range of courses, an internship opportunity, and an excellent faculty. Classes are small which means more interaction between professors and students.
Facilities include design studios, lecture rooms, a reading room, resource areas for product catalogs and samples of materials specified for interior applications, and a state of the art computer lab in the College of Human Environmental Sciences. An active student chapter of the American Society of Interior Designers--with field trips and guest speakers--enhances the design experience for students.
