American Society of Interior Designers (ASID)

​ASID is the oldest and largest organization representing the interests and growth of professional interior designers. This University ASID Chapter is a community set to provide and fulfill the wants and needs of design students. This chapter will improve students’ knowledge for the better of their professional future.

Interior Design Student Association (IDSA)

IDSA is an umbrella organization combining ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and IIDA (International Interior Design Association).

International Interior Design Association (IIDA)

IIDA was founded in 1994 as the result of a merger of the Institute of Business Designers (IBD); the International Society of Interior Designers (ISID); and the Council of Federal Interior Designers (CFID). The goal of the merger was to create an international association with a united mission that would represent interior designers worldwide. Since that date, IIDA has worked to convene communities of interior designers across regions and specialties representing the interests of the entire community.

Student Fashion Association (SFA)

Faculty Advisor: Brian Taylor (btaylor@ches.ua.edu) and Babs Davis (bdavis@ches.ua.edu)
SFA is a professional organization open to any University of Alabama student who is interested in the promotion and development of the fashion industry. Activities, including field trips to major market centers and interaction with professionals, promote an in-depth understanding of corporations and career opportunities in the textile and apparel industry.
