VA St. Louis Health Care System Internship

VA St. Louis Health Care System intership  is a VA-sponsored 42-week program. This well-rounded program provides a minimum of 1200 hours of supervised practice with hands-on experiences in clinical nutrition, administrative management, and community advocacy. All rotations are arranged by the internship director which allows interns to focus on learning. Our highly experienced preceptors provide interns with stimulating opportunities for developing counseling and teaching skills, completing nutrition-focused physical exams, participating in wound and medical rounds, and managing food operations. The program begins in mid to late August and concludes at the end of May. Interns are paid a stipend of $25,200 while in supervised practice, in addition, are able to take advantage of other federal benefits.
