To make the most of your advising session:
- Review your DegreeWorks audit to check your completed courses and remaining requirements.
- Note any discrepancies or questions you may have.
- Think ahead to your upcoming semester—consider which courses interest you and whether you’re planning for internships, study abroad, or graduation.
- Inform your advisors if you’re taking or planning to take courses at another institution.
- Bring your advising folder or laptop so you can access your schedule, DegreeWorks, and any necessary forms during your meeting.
To schedule your advising appointment:
- Select your advisor below based on your campus code (main campus or distance learning) and concentration. If you’re unsure who your advisor is, check DegreeWorks or contact the departmental office if one isn’t listed.
- Send your advisor an email to request an appointment—always include your CWID and use your @crimson email account.
- Write down the time and date of your confirmed appointment in your planner or calendar.

Registering for Classes
Registration Times are posted at least two weeks before registration begins. Go to the “Student” tab on myBama. Click “Registration” in the “Academic and Student Services” box, then click on “Registration Status” and select the term. Your specific date and time for registration should display.
It is the student’s responsibility to make sure they are advised and registered within a timely manner. Delaying advising and/or registration may result in necessary classes being full.
