North Oaks Medical Center has made the difficult decision to close the Dietetic Internship Program effective December 20, 2025. The NOMC DI is following the ACEND teach-out plan and will maintain all required student records. Alumni of the dietetic internship program may reach out to interim director, Haley Lanter, to obtain a copy of their verification statement after program closure.

The North Oaks Medical Center Dietetic Internship (NOMC DI) program is located in Hammond, Louisiana. The supervised practice program is designed to prepare entry-level Registered Dietitian Nutritionists who are committed to the profession of dietetics and provide safe, courteous, compassionate care that improves the lives of patients and our community.
Interns can expect to spend 24 hours per week participating in supervised practice activities. Our program is unique in that it is a part-time program making part-time employment possible. The program can be completed within 12 months while obtaining experience in areas such as clinical nutrition, oncology, renal dialysis, sports nutrition, functional medicine, and intern choice rotations.
The NOMC DI accepts nine interns each year through the approved ACEND application process and Spring match date. Our program prides itself on a personalized experience with one-on-one support from the program director and preceptors.
The North Oaks Medical Center Dietetic Internship is granted accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
