Gene Hallman is President and Founder of Eventive Sports, a Birmingham, Alabama-based sports event management company founded in 1996. Over the past three decades, Eventive Sports has grown into one of the nation’s leading sports event management companies, with more than 75 employees managing events across 35 states and three countries throughout its history. In January 2024, Eventive Sports was acquired by Troon, the world’s largest golf and golf-related hospitality management company.
Throughout his career, Hallman has overseen more than 350 major, premier sporting events. His company’s portfolio is wide and diverse, and includes the Regions Tradition, one of the five PGA TOUR Champions championships, which has generated more than $25 million for local charities over its 35-plus year history. Other events include the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games, the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix, the SEC Baseball Tournament, the Magic City Football Classic, the Davis Cup and the Billie Jean Cup, the WBC Heavyweight Championship fights, U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Soccer matches, and The World Games 2022.

Eventive Sports also manages event operations and fan experience programs for The University of Alabama, Auburn University, University of Oklahoma, and the Rose Bowl Stadium. Hallman was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame as the 2022 Distinguished American Sportsman.

Hallman earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the College of Charleston and a Master of Business Administration (MBA), magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina. He is married to Jennifer and has two children, Ella and Marshall.
